Attuma being a trusted ally of Namor and Namora is a very different approach than the comics, but it sets up a stronger bond between the people of Talokan which could be crucial in their debut. If Namor trusts Attuma's decision making this could mean that he is one of his most trusted generals. This trust could be pivotal in presenting Talokan as a true threat to Wakanda. The admiration and loyalty that Attuma holds for Namor as a leader and the mutual respect that Attuma, Namora, and Namor seem to have for one another paint a very different picture than what comic book fans might be expecting. Based on what Livinalli said about Attuma's loyalty towards Namor, they seem to have a strong relationship in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
